Day 3 – June 3/10 – Does sex count?

Welcome to day 3 of the 30-Day Sweat Challenge. I had a great question from one of the participants yesterday (of course it was her husband who wanted to know), does sex count?
My answer, abso-freaking-lutely! According to “Health in the New Millennium” (pg 471) “Sexual intercourse is about as vigorous as taking a brisk walk…” So hell yeah, if your heart rate is elevated for 20 minutes, count it and we will include it under the category “lifestyle physical activity”, no need to share the details unless of course there is something that we need to know!
I will be doing some muscle and core conditioning today and later getting my cardio in rocking out with one of my favourite bands. So how did you sweat today?

30 minutes on the elliptical, followed by a 30 minute leg workout with weights.
45 min road run then taught a 45min spin class with no breaks (one long mix of songs)
Sorry, comment about Thursdays class I put under June 2 instead of today June 3.
Ran 50 minutes on treadmill at LC varied speed and incline. Followed that with a Core Connection class.
June 1 2010 back dated ( some slack please) I ran and walked with Emma (dog) for 1 hr while Gen skated
I will not submit late again I promise.
June 3rd 75 min weight class at Keri’s rode bike to class. 90 min skating tonight.
27 min run, then hit the gym for 10 min on the rowing maching followed by 30 mins of weights. And I work tonight so add on 4 hours of teaching people how to use weight machines.
Pilates with you in the am. and hiking with Lisa B. in the pm,
30 minutes weights
20 minute walk (pushing stroller containing very cute grandbaby…probably the cutest one ever)
Sadly – no sex
A 25 minute run to ‘The Works’ 75 minute class at Iron Mountain Movement studio and a 20 minute run home.
total 2hours
45 mins on the stationary bike followed by a 5 min cool down….no weight training today I’m being wild & changing things up a bit!
that’s funny, I was going to ask today if sex counts….and that’s me asking, not my hubby. lol
…anyway, went for a 45 minute hike in the mountain biking trails today with Sheena and the dogs.
I had a great swim at 6:30 today. A super way to start the day.
35 minute run along Poco Trail from Gilnetter Pub to the Pitt River Bridge and back and no didnt stop in at the pub just wanted too!
50 minute Pyramid run (including 10 minute warm up and cool down) along Alderside in Port Moody. Gorgeous gorgeous afternoon!
If anyone wants to get a run in and give $ to charity at the same. 7th Annual Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation ‘Fund Run’. This Sunday, June 6th 9am at Fairview School. Register in person day of or download application at http://www.rmhfoundation.com. Great sponsors & prizes, etc. 5K walk / run or 10K run
Day 3: Well I was going to do double cardio thursday but I went and bought new cross trainers instead. I did however walked my daughter to school. Then I did about two hours of cleaning which included vaccuming and cleaning one bathroom. Finally I did some running of Incline and trail blazing around Mike Lake. So if Ron ever tells you that only women get lost, he was the leader for this one. And I know Keri its not getting lost because we knew where the F we were. And tonight we didn’t stop for our walk breaks.
30 min run at 6:15 am – do I get extra points for the early morning?
30min run on the dyke in the Pitt!
33 minutes of Pilates but it was just not the same with out the group.
5km run with my husband Dave and thanks for the idea for tomorrow’s “work out”;)
45 minute cardio core at the Leisure Centre – lots of squats.
2 hours of dancing in my “Shape Ups” at the Nickelback concert!!
What a great show! I wore not so sensible boots and I think that I have shin splints from all of my rocking out!
missed last night due to a more urgent responsibility
